Professor Ningyu Liu — of the Florida Institute of Technology’s Geospace Physics Laboratory — recently snared some unbelievable, slow-motion footage of a lighting storm.

WATCH:

According to the video’s description, the footage was captured “at 7000 frames per second and the playback speed is 700 frames per second,” whatever the hell that means.

Still, one thing is readily apparent.

It’s super, super creepy.
