During his mad dash around California in support of his wife’s campaign for the Democratic Party’s 2016 presidential nomination, former President Bill Clinton stopped to speak on Saturday at a Compton elementary school named in his honor.

The school, William Jefferson Clinton Elementary School, is a deplorable failure.

Only 31 percent of the students at Clinton Elementary have demonstrated proficiency in English, reports EAGNews.org.

The math situation is even lousier. Just 25 percent of the students at the K-8 school are proficient in math for their grade levels.

Some parents who have children at Clinton Elementary express sharp criticism at GreatSchools.org, a website where users can review schools.

“This school is broken,” writes one peeved parent. “Do not always believe things you see. KNOW facts and speak to teachers and other staff who will tell you honest answers about the lack of support and poor progress of students. Sadly I decided to remove my children from Clinton.”

The parent who wrote the negative review specifically singled out the principal, Kanika White, for disrespecting parents and giving some people “special treatment.”

A second parent agrees with this assessment. “Bad, bad, bad principal!” the second parent complains. “She is not what a principal should be. The vice principal is bad, too. You never see them around school. They play favorite to some parents than change the rules that don’t apply to all. She is fake. My kids don’t like her and teachers say they don’t like her, too.”

Other parents disagree. They say they are pleased with the experience their children are having at Clinton Elementary.

“I am so very proud that my kids can attend Clinton,” says one happy parent. “Dr. White is always interacting with the kids and make herself available when parents need her too. She is always smiling and seems very high energy.”

Greatschools.org gives Clinton Elementary 5 stars out of a maximum of 10 stars (and a minimum of 1.)

The majority of students at the school come from low-income families.

The president of the Compton Unified School District, Micah Ali, stood by former President Clinton’s side as he spoke at the school.

During his speech, Clinton acknowledged what has been heralded nationally as a remarkable academic turnaround for Compton’s perennially beleaguered public schools.

William Jefferson Clinton Elementary School is not Southern California’s only elementary school named after a Democratic president of recent vintage. There’s also Barack Obama Global Preparation Academy in south Los Angeles.

In 2013, a seventh-grade boy was allegedly raped by another male student during gym class at the school named after Obama. (RELATED: Seventh-Grade Boy Allegedly Raped During Gym Class At Barack Obama Prep)

The then-13-year-old boy, identified only as Julian, is a special-needs student who had the mental capacity of a six-to-eight year old at the time of the incident. The boy’s parents announced plans to sue.
