Authorities carried out a controlled explosion Wednesday on a suspicious vehicle outside the Israeli embassy in central London.

After London Metropolitan Police cordoned off High Street Kensington, Witnesses reported the sound of a loud explosion to SkyNews.

Police reportedly evacuated a nearby Whole Foods Market. A witness on the scene tweeted that the Whole Foods market as locked down with “1000 inside.”

Although no one has claimed responsibility, Hamas recently made overt threats towards Israel after their involvement in a bombing in Jerusalem April 18.

The Israeli Embassy is approximately 300 feet from Kensington Palace, the home of Prince William and Princess Kate, although it is not yet clear whether they were home or not.
