Warning: Spoilers ahead.

With all the excitement for the sixth season of “Game of Thrones,'” it has become easy to forget minor characters from older seasons — such as Syrio Forel, Arya Stark’s sword teacher from season one.

Syrio was believed to be killed while protecting Arya during the show’s inaugural run, but because his “death” happened offscreen, fans have been theorizing that he may one day return.

A new promo shot for the show’s upcoming eighth episode has only fanned the flames of speculation.

The shadow of the waif, who we last saw stabbing Arya repeatedly in last week’s “The Broken Man,” bares a striking resemblance to that of Arya’s old teacher. (RELATED: Let’s Talk About THAT ‘Game of Thrones’ (Not So) Shocker)

Further fueling this theory is the fact that Miltos Yerolemou, the actor who portrayed Syrio, replied to a fan on Twitter with a cryptic set of emojis that hinted at his return.

Of course, fans could just be reading too much into a single image, and Yerolemou could just be having some well-intended fun with passionate viewers on social media.

But the actor did appear on Sunday’s “Thronecast” — the U.K.’s after-episode show — where he revealed that his character has a history with the House of Black and White and the Faceless Men.

“No One,” the eighth episode of season six, will air Sunday night at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
