After Amber Heard filed for divorce from Johnny Depp in May, the young starlet accused the Hollywood A-lister of domestic abuse, and photos of her bruised face made the rounds online.

While Heard and her lawyers have been trying to kick up a media storm over the last several days, Depp and his legal team have reportedly been trying to nail down a date for Heard’s deposition.

Attorney Laura Wasser wants to question Heard and best friend Raquel Pennington under oath in a deposition in advance of next Friday’s restraining order trial. However, Wasser claims that both individuals are citing a packed schedule as to why they won’t be available in the coming week.

According to Wasser, legal representatives for both Heard and Depp have discussed a sit down in order to settle the case. Whether or not that sit down would include the two actors or just lawyers is unclear. Any talk about settlements would likely include spousal support, of which Heard is reportedly seeking $50 thousand per month.

Wasser says the two sides were set to meet for a settlement conference on June 10 before the plan fell through. Depp’s attorney then hoped to use that day for Heard’s deposition, but the starlet’s lawyer suddenly claimed she was unavailable. Depp’s lawyer suggests they are purposely avoiding her. “[Amber] has tried her claims in the media. It is now time to do so in a court of law,” Wasser told TMZ.
