Just moments after the shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando started, somebody with access to Pulse’s Facebook account posted a short, terrifying message telling everybody to “get out of pulse and keep running:”

The post was made at 2:09 p.m., just seven minutes after the first shots were fired in what would be a three-hour horror show resulting in the deaths of at least 50 people. It is unclear whether the person who posted the message was inside the club when the shooting began, though it seems likely as the Facebook post was one of the very first indicators a mass shooting was happened. Even Orlando police only confirmed a mass shooting on Twitter at about 4 a.m.

Several comments on the post are by alleged eyewitnesses, who offered details about the shooting during a period where there was very little information available from the news media.

“Shooter opened fire @ around 2:00am,” said Ricardo Negron Almodovar, “People on the dance floor and bar got down on the floor and some of us who were near the bar and back exit managed to go out through the outdoor area and just ran. I am safely home and hoping everyone gets home safely as well.”

“My daughter is in there,” said another commenter. “I was on the fone [sic] and all i hear is shot guns.” She later updated to say her daughter made it out safely.
