Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is expected to announce he will seek re-election next week.

CNN reports sources say the former GOP presidential hopeful has reconsidered his vow not to run again for his seat in the Senate.

“The Florida senator is telling top supporters he has changed his mind — and will run for re-election to the Senate,” CNN reporter John King said Sunday. “This change of heart will be a boost to Republican hopes of holding their Senate majority after a tough couple of weeks.”

Rubio annouced he was reconsidering in the wake of the Orlando terrorist attack at a gay nightclub, which left 50 dead, including terrorist Omar Mateen.

Rep. David Jolly of Florida said he was dropping out of the primary Friday after speculating Rubio would announce a run.

Jolly will now face Republican-turned-Democrat former Gov. Charlie Crist in the race to retain his House seat.
