While a Missouri city’s local school board members are seeking legal instruction on Obama’s transgender bathroom policy, the city’s local public population has sent numerous letters to school board members calling for a rejection of the bathroom policy, according to reports from News-Leader.

People from Springfield, Missouri sent Springfield Superintendent John Jungmann and his fellow school board member approximately 41 letters; only 4 of the letters have not called for a full rejection of Obama’s policy. Most of the letters protested Obama’s decree that transgender students be allowed to use the bathroom of their choice.

“It is shocking to me that we are even considering allowing a few confused students to invade the privacy of the vast majority of other students,” one parent, Brad McKenzie, wrote. “Why is my daughter’s privacy right less important than the rights of a student who has gender identity issues? We should be providing counseling to transgender students rather than catering to the latest politically correct fad of welcoming gender confusion as a normal and natural thing.”

McKenzie also wrote in his letter that he would be willing to pursue legal actions if the school board decided to uphold Obama’s bathroom policy.

The transgender bathroom policy, touted by U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Department of Education and President Barack Obama, orders public schools to allow transgender students to use the bathroom according to the gender they identify with, rather than their  biological sex.

One form letter read, “This letter has been written to ‘strongly’ urge you to stand firm in support of the beliefs and values of the constituency who has elected you to office. I am a Christian voter. I believe in Christian values and moral Biblical standards. Therefore this controversial Transgender Bathroom Law is in direct opposition to everything I believe and everything I find morally appropriate.”

The letter continued, arguing that the policy will ultimately prevent the safety of women and children and also opens them up to attack from predators.

Teresa Bledsoe, a spokeswoman, told News-Leader that Ransom Ellis III, the attorney, will have a response on the bathroom policy by early July.

Christopher Atkins, who is single and has no kids, wrote, “I’m dumbfounded that someone of his status and learning actually needs more than about 10 seconds to know that this directive from our out-of-control president is absolutely asinine. Weeks to study whether boy and girls should intermingle into each other’s locker rooms and restroom facilities? Are you kidding me?”
