Pedestrian traffic signs in London will feature same-sex couples and transgender symbols to celebrate pride month, according to the Independent.

Pedestrian traffic lights in certain London areas will feature seven symbols celebrating LGBTQ individuals in anticipation of the pride festival scheduled for the end of June. The area around Trafalgar Square will boast about 50 traffic signals, including a same-sex couple holding hands and forming a heart.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan supported the traffic signal changes, saying that he was “very proud” of London’s diversity. “Our thoughts and prayers are, of course, still with the families and friends of the victims of the hideous recent attack in Orlando,” he said according to the Independent.

“These new signals show that we stand shoulder to shoulder with them, and display the tolerance and celebration of difference in our city,” Khan continued.

Vienna, Austria installed traffic lights that featured same-sex couples back in 2105. A council member of the Freedom Party of Austria spoke out against the lights, saying that they were “completely unnecessary”–  the signs were kept despite the protest.
