Sen. Bernie Sanders told MSNBC Friday he will vote for presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in November.

Yes,” Sanders responded, when asked on “Morning Joe” if he would vote for Clinton. Sanders said his ultimate job was to ensure Republican front-runner Donald Trump doesn’t win the presidency, adding that he would do anything in his power to make certain that doesn’t happen.

“My job right now is to fight for the strongest possible representation in the party platform in Cleveland,” Sanders later added.

Sanders has been criticized for continuing his race, and recent headlines condemned him for spending taxpayer money on continued secret service protection.

After his meeting with President Barack Obama earlier in June, Sanders shifted his message from advocating for liberal causes to advocating for influence at the party convention.

In a recent poll, nearly half of Sanders supporters stated that they would not vote for clinton, choosing Trump or Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson instead.
