The White House released security footage of Secret Service agents shooting an intruder who ignited a lockdown in May when he entered the grounds with a handgun.

Prosecutors played the video in court Monday at Jesse Olivieri’s initial hearing for his actions on May 20. Olivieri, 31, from Ashland, Pennsylvania approached White House grounds near the south entrance, brandishing a handgun that he refused to drop after multiple warnings from Secret Service agents. A judge order Olivieri to be held in jail as his trial proceeds, reports NBC Washington.

After Secret Service agents shot Olivieri in the stomach he reportedly told them, “I came here to shoot people.”

After ignoring commands to drop his weapon a Secret Service special officer shot Olivieri once in the stomach and kicked away his gun. Olivieri was carrying a loaded .22-caliber semiautomatic handgun. Authorities administered medical aid once Olivieri was secure and eventually transported him to George Washington University Hospital to recover. Authorities recovered additional ammunition in Olivieri’s car and found a spent shell casing on Constitution Avenue. Olivieri faces up to 20 years in prison, charged with impeding officers with a dangerous weapon.

President Obama was not at the White House when the shooting happened, and Vice President Joe Biden was secured on the grounds. The lockdown was in place for roughly a half hour and lifted around 4 p.m. on May 20.
