The No. 3 NBA draft pick and new Boston Celtics player, Jaylen Brown, obviously feels he has something to prove.

At a clinic hosted by the Celtics at the Madison Park Community center, Brown went so far as to dunk on a child who said that he isn’t a good player.

Brown told MassLive.com that, “He challenged me and I just blacked out. He said, ‘You ain’t good.’ He said Ben Simmons (the No. 1 overall draft pick) is better. So I said alright, OK.”

The 19-year-old small forward dribbled around his young challenger for a few seconds before crossing over and easily making a one-handed dunk.

Many Celtics fans were upset with Brown’s selection as the No. 3 overall pick, some going so far as to boo when his name was announced at the NBA draft last week.

The rookie player acknowledged the long road ahead.

“Now it’s time to prove everybody that I’m worth being the No. 3 pick,” Brown continued, “I’m willing to sacrifice what needs to be sacrificed. I’m ready to go.”
