In an exclusive interview with TheDCNF, Donald Trump’s foreign policy adviser, Walid Phares, described Trump’s strategy for the Iran nuclear deal.

Phares told TheDCNF that Trump ‘doesn’t like this deal’ and that he believes “it was poorly negotiated.” Phares explained that Trump would not get rid of the deal completely.

“He’s not going to get rid of an agreement that has the institutional signature of the United States,” Phares said. He added that Trump ‘is a man of institutions’ and that he plans to renegotiate it with Iran after consulting his policy team.

Trump will most likely “send it back to Congress” to come up with terms more favorable to America, but will not fully repeal the deal.

Phares also spoke with Wall Street Journal and told them “He is going to be revising, reviewing, and maybe trying to modify the Iran Deal.”
