Gone Fishing: GOP Senator Skipping Convention To Catch Trout

It’s been clear that Donald Trump isn’t reeling in all of the GOP’s support to this month’s convention. A growing number of Republican members of Congress have announced that they won’t be in the room to watch the Manhattan businessman accept their party’s nomination.

Add to that list Senator Steve Daines.

“I’m going to be fishing,” the Montana senator told The Daily Caller of his plans during the Cleveland Convention. He added that he would be catching trout.

But when asked if he was walking back his support for Trump, Daines answered no.

It appears that he, like many others, is going to cautiously support Trump’s nomination from a distance — in this case about 1600 miles.
