Could Donald Trump become the first person to win the presidency but choose not to serve as president?

The Donald suggests it isn’t inconceivable.

Asked by the New York Times whether he would actually serve as president if he beat Hillary Clinton this fall, the billionaire presumptive GOP nominee was non-committal on the subject.

“I’ll let you know how I feel about it after it happens,” he told the Times with what the paper described as a “mischievous smile.”

Who would replace Trump if he decided to end his political career as an electoral winner depends on when he actually declared his intention not to serve, according to the Times.

The Trump campaign did not immediately return a Daily Caller request for comment on whether Trump is really considering not serving if he is elected.
