Chaka Khan said she was going to rehab for prescription pain killers after what happened to Prince.

On Sunday, the 63-year-old singer — whose real name is Yvette Marie Stevens — announced she was canceling the rest of her shows in July and entering a rehabilitation center for an addiction to the “same medication” that lead to Prince’s death, according to the Hollywood Reporter. “Unfortunately, I will miss concert appearances over the summer,” Khan said. “However, it’s vital that I put my health and well-being first. I know that I am disappointing some of my fans, but I also know they would want me to recover and be well and healthy.”

Khan said she and her sister knew they had to do this after the loss of their friend Prince.

“The tragic death of Prince has had us both rethinking and re-evaluating our lives and priorities,” she said. “We knew it was time to take action to save our lives. My sister and I would like to thank everyone for their support, love and prayers.”

Khan also posted a message on her Twitter account thanking fans for their support.
