Johnny Manziel might soon be a Dallas Cowboy according to a recent report.

The Cowboys and Jerry Jones are apparently considering signing the former Heisman winner to backup Tony Romo, according to the Gospel Herald(RELATED: Meet The Playboy Model Johnny Manziel Is Vacationing With In Mexico [PHOTOS])

The rumored contract would only be for a year.

The report also indicates the reason for Manziel going to Dallas is the fact that rookie quarterback Dak Prescott doesn’t appear to be ready to take over for starting quarterback Tony Romo in the event of an emergency.  (SLIDESHOW: These Are The Hottest Photos Of Ronda Rousey On The Internet)

The idea that Prescott isn’t ready to play isn’t rare. Dallas Morning News writer Tim Cowlishaw stated, “Very few QBs coming out of spread attacks transfer those skills quickly to the NFL. On top of that, QBs not drafted in the top 100? Those success cases are extremely rare. Prescott has intangibles as a leader that everyone loves, so perhaps that increases his chances. But he’s still a long shot.”

It looks like Manziel might be back in the NFL a lot sooner than expected.
