Trump is expected to announce a running mate by the end of this week. The Republican National Convention is next week.
On Tuesday, Trump held a rally in Westfield, Indiana with Pence and teased the crowd about the speculation. “I don’t know if he’s going to be your governor or your vice president — who the hell knows?” Trump said of Pence, a former congressman and radio host.
In a series of tweets on Tuesday, Pence — who backed Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in the Republican primary — praised Trump.
We will not rest until we elect @realDonaldTrump as the next President of the United States of America!
