A school district in the suburbs of Atlanta has announced plans to build a $23 million elementary school and name it after President Barack Obama.

The shiny, new grade school will be the first in Georgia to honor Obama.

The DeKalb County Board Of Education voted unanimously for the appellation and the school district announced the name on Tuesday, reports Atlanta Fox affiliate WAGA-TV.

The brand-spanking-new Barack H. Obama Elementary Magnet School of Technology will be constructed in Decatur, Georgia on the site of Clifton Elementary School.

A Google Street View of the site from March 2016 shows an existing school-like structure as well as a construction project at the site.

“President Obama embodies the values of a strong family, hard work, and education as the means of getting ahead,” school district superintendent R. Stephen Green said in a statement obtained by WAGA-TV.

“He knows the most dedicated teachers and most supportive parents can make a difference if students show up, pay attention, and apply themselves to the fullest extent possible,” added school board member Michael Erwin.

“The name on this school will remind us every day of the importance of these attributes in being good citizens,” chimed in school board chairman Melvin Johnson, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Obama Elementary will serve between 700 and 900 students in prekindergarten through fifth grade.

The school is expected to open its doors in January 2017.

During construction, the school will be temporarily housed at an unused elementary school in Atlanta.

School districts in other parts of America have already named schools after Obama.

In the fall of 2014, the president could not be bothered to take a few minutes out of his hectic fundraising schedule to grant multiple visit requests from students at Barack Obama Elementary School in Hempstead, New York. Obama instead chose to schmooze with well-heeled Democrats at a nearby dinner that cost as much as $5,000 per person to attend. In 2013, a seventh-grade boy was allegedly raped by another male student during gym class at the school named after Obama. (RELATED: Seventh-Grade Boy Allegedly Raped During Gym Class At Barack Obama Prep)

The then-13-year-old boy, identified only as Julian, is a special-needs student who had the mental capacity of a 6-to-8 year old. The boy’s parents announced plans to sue.
