Justin Goldstein was arrested Tuesday on child pornography possession charges.

The WTNH meteorologist was taken into custody at the television station in New Haven after a search of his home yielded child pornography on his computer and “other equipment.”

Goldstein was not present at the time the search warrant was carried out by Connecticut police.

According to UPI, the FBI and Homeland Security investigators had been monitoring Goldstein since June, when they discovered he had been downloading the videos “to an [Internet] account registered to him.”

“We are deeply concerned by the allegations,” station general manager Mark Higgins said in a statement. “Until the matter is resolved, Justin Goldstein is suspended from his duties at WTNH.”

Goldstein was formally charged with one count of promoting a minor in an obscene performance and first-degree possession of child pornography.

He was released on $200,000 bail and has a preliminary court date set for July 26.
