Pippa Middleton has confirmed rumors that she is engaged.
On Tuesday, a statement released by Britain’s press association said that the 32-year-old younger sister of the duchess of Cambridge is engaged to hedge fund manager James Matthew, with plans to be married next year, according to the BBC. The confirmation came after Middleton was spotted leaving her London home wearing a diamond ring on her left hand.
According to reports, Matthews went the traditional route in asking for her hand in marriage, getting down on one knee while they were visiting the Lake District in Northwest England.
“Miss Pippa Middleton and Mr. James Matthews are delighted to announce they became engaged on Sunday 17th July and plan to marry next year,” the couple said in a statement.
Middleton’s sister Kate and Prince William are thrilled with the news of the impending wedding, according to E! News.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are absolutely delighted with the news.”
