The 66-year-old former Olympian was the guest speaker at a brunch hosted by the American Unity Fund during the Republican National Convention Wednesday. Though the reality star spoke at length about gay rights, faith and the North Carolina “bathroom law,” Jenner was silent when it came to the Black Lives Matter movement. When directly asked by The Daily Caller about Black Lives Matter and the officers who were shot and killed in Dallas and Baton Rouge, Jenner paused, thought about the question, then turned and left the building with his entourage.

There was no comment.

Jenner shocked the liberal community when he stood by his conservative values and Christian faith despite transitioning into a woman last April. (RELATED: The Transgender Community Won’t Like What This 13-Year-Old Just Said About Caitlyn Jenner)

On Wednesday, Jenner said his pastor was one of the first people he told about the transition.

“I remember being in church and always having in the back of my head, ‘Why me? Why did God do this? Why are my identity and my gender in my head 24 hours a day?’ As I sat in church, I always wondered, ‘What does God think of me?'”

“Maybe this is the reason God put me on this earth — to tell my story. At this point in my life, I’ve done so much, as Bruce and as a person. I’ve had 10 children. Maybe he thinks I can make a difference in the world.” (RELATED: Caitlyn Jenner: ‘I Get More Flak For Being Conservative Than Being Transgender’)
