Authorities arrested an airport security screener for taking photos and videos up a woman’s skirt in the middle of a busy airport.

An eyewitness said a TSA officer followed a woman up an escalator at Seattle-Tacoma Airport in late June and pointed his cell phone up her skirt to record videos and take pictures, according to local TV station KIRO 7. The eyewitness reported it to authorities, prompting an investigation.

Security officers followed TSA screener Nicholas Fernandez, 29, Tuesday when he went on a break. Arrest records allege Fernandez “hurriedly walked over to the baggage claim escalator and positioned himself behind a woman” in full view of the officers tailing him.

Officers arrested Fernandez after reportedly catching him the act and booked him in the county jail, where he was charged with voyeurism. Fernandez waived his right to appear in court Wednesday, and his bail was set for $75,000, the Seattle Times reported.

TSA suspended Fernandez indefinitely without pay, and is cooperating with the investigation.

“TSA does not tolerate illegal, unethical or immoral conduct,” TSA spokesperson Lorie Dankers said in a statement, according to KIRO7. “When such conduct is alleged, TSA investigates it thoroughly. When appropriate, TSA requests that it be investigated by a law enforcement authority. When an investigation finds that misconduct has occurred, the appropriate action is taken.”
