The formerly unemployed Los Angeles reporter who broke the news that parts of Melania Trump’s speech plagiarized a past speech by First Lady Michelle Obama, has now landed a job with a news outlet run by Democratic operatives.
Jarrett Hill, the reporter who discovered Melania’s speech was plagiarized while sitting in a Starbucks, will cover the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia for the news site Blue Nation Review (BNR).
I’M GOING TO PHILLY!
Super excited to join the @BlueNationRev to cover the @DemConvention this week!

Now, here’s where it gets interesting. BNR is 80 percent owned by David Brock, an operative for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Peter Daou, Clinton’s digital media strategist in 2008, serves as the CEO of BNR’s parent company True Blue Media.
Brock also runs the left-wing nonprofit Media Matters for America. That group is “dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media.”
Hill was a broadcast journalist who was recently laid-off, that is, until he attracted attention last week.
“I thought, ‘That’s legit plagiarism,'” Hill told The New York Times. “‘Someone took this piece and plugged in their own information.'”
Hill said he was a President Barack Obama supporter and suspected Trump had borrowed from the first lady’s speech when he heard the phrase “strength of your dreams.”
