A Jamaican student visiting America was so awestruck by the beauty of white women he groped five of them on the New York City Subway.

The student allegedly stuck his hand up the skirts of five women in the subway. When arrested by police, he said had never seen white women before and found them “absolutely beautiful,” the New York Daily News reports.

Police caught 19-year-old Damario Johnson in an attempted assault Monday, and arrested him. “It’s a very distinctive crime, a very, very distinctive method of committing this crime,” New York Police Department Capt. Zahid Williams told the NY Daily News.

Johnson, who has been in the U.S. for two months on a student visa, assaulted one woman Wednesday, another Thursday, and two Friday. The victims filed complaints and police investigated over the weekend, finally catching Johnson in the act. He is being charged with sexual assault.

The number of reported sexual assaults, not including rape, in the subway system has increased by 50 percent since 2015, and authorities are cracking down on perpetrators, The Wall Street Journal reported in June.

“Our teams are catching more sex offenders in the act and more women are coming forward knowing that we are committed to aggressively pursuing each criminal complaint,” NYPD Chief of Transit Joseph Fox told the Wall Street Journal.
