German politicians are calling for a complete moratorium on Muslim immigration after weeks of terror attacks.

Chancellor Angela Merkel reaffirmed her open-border immigration stance Tuesday when she commented on the recent events for the first time. Some of her fellow party members within the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), on the other hand, demand drastic measures immediately. (RELATED: Merkel Doubles Down On Open Borders In Wake Of Migrant Terror)

“It’s really a nightmare politicians brought to Germany and Bavaria, and people are very worried to be [the] next victims of terrorism in our country,” Thomas Jahn, vice chairman of CDU’s sister party the Cristian Social Union, told Russia Today. “We need to control our borders, that is the most important thing at the moment, and we need to send…the dangerous people with Islamist ideology back to the countries outside Europe and [the] European Union.”

Nationalist party Alternative fur Deutschland wants a complete ban on asylums for Muslims for the time being. The party’s vice leader, Alexander Gauland, said a Donald Trump-style solution is necessary to ensure people’s safety. (RELATED: It Took 4 Terror attacks In A Week For This Leader To Realize Islamist Terrorism Is In Germany)

“We can no longer afford, for safety reasons, to let uncontrolled Muslim immigration into Germany,” Gauland told Die Welt Thursday. “The right of asylum for Muslims should be suspended immediately until all applicants residing in Germany are registered, monitored and their applications are processed.”
