Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton is all of 68 years old now, but she was just 44 years old when she burst on the national scene as the trailing spouse of then-Democratic presidential candidate Bill Clinton.

She attended public schools in Park Ridge, Illinois and then went off to Wellesley College.

She married Bill Clinton in 1975. A few years later, in 1978, Bill Clinton was elected governor of Arkansas. Here’s what Hillary — age 32 — looked like when she became the first lady of Arkansas:
