The Baltimore Ravens played the Carolina Panthers in their first preseason game last night. The Ravens had a surprise timeout on their way to a win as the entire stadium stopped to watch Michael Phelps win his 22nd Olympic Gold Medal.

Phelps is from Maryland and is a well-known Ravens fanatic. Although Phelps had two races last night and only 30 minutes in between them, he managed to keep up with the game with a buddy back home who was texting him score updates.

The play on the field was brought to a halt in the fourth quarter as players from both teams and fans in attendance stopped to watch the Baltimore native swim in the 200-meter individual medley.

After Phelps’ record 13th individual gold medal, NBC’s Michelle Tafoya told him about the ravens stadium-wide viewing party. “I look forward to getting back home to a Ravens game very soon,” Phelps told Tafoya, “I miss those guys back home.”
