Dallas Cowboys star receiver Dez Bryant has given up his pet monkey and it’s another example of the organization’s losing culture.

Bryant bought the pet monkey in 2015 and it sparked outrage with PETA. (RELATED: Hookstead’s Hot Take: You’re A Racist If You Criticize Johnny Manziel)

PETA released a statement demanding that the police intervene and take the monkey from Bryant. The police declined, but according to CBS Sports the monkey is no longer with the Cowboys star. It is now with a “friend,” according to the report. (SLIDESHOW: This Blonde Bombshell Is The Hottest Chick On The Internet)

Bryant getting rid of that monkey is 100 percent a reflection of the organization as a whole. Getting a monkey is a big time play that you’d expect from star athletes. It’s bold, risky and rare. Capitulating and getting rid of it, no matter what the reason, is what losers do. (SLIDESHOW: Derek Jeter’s New Wife Loves Showing Off Skin)

The Cowboys team is a mirror of Bryant’s mentality. Every year, the team has incredibly high expectations and hype, and every year they fail to meet those lofty expectations. Bryant was okay with losing his monkey, just like the Cowboys organization appears to be okay with not winning Super Bowls anymore.

Looks like there won’t be a culture change in Dallas anytime soon.
