A new government-commissioned report has found rampant election fraud among Muslim communities in the United Kingdom and also determined that authorities are simply too scared to do anything about it.

Former Conservative cabinet minister Sir Eric Pickles warned in the report that stringent refusal to crackdown on Muslims tampering with elections is a clear sign of political correctness, The Telegraph reports.

As far as Pickles is concerned, the government is “turning a blind eye” to the problem in Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities, which are also predominantly Muslim.

“There were concerns that influence and intimidation within households may not be reported, and that state institutions had turned a blind eye to such behaviour because of ‘politically correct’ over-sensitivities about ethnicity and religion,” the report notes.

Police, election watchdogs and town halls have all ignored blatant fraud.

“Following the Tower Hamlets election court case, it is astonishing that no criminal prosecution has been brought by the Metropolitan Police,” Pickles said in the report.

Postal voting on demand was abused, as it served to violate the right to vote in secret and resulted in undue pressure on free choice. Specifically, elders of these ethnic and religious communities pushed women and young people to vote in accordance with their will.

“[E]lectoral malpractice is far more common than just one isolated London borough thanks to the state’s collective state of denial,” Pickles wrote in The Telegraph.

David Cameron commissioned the review in 2015, following an election fraud scandal in Tower Hamlets, which led to the removal of Mayor Lutfur Rahman.

According to Pickles, Rahman pushed hard on fellow Muslims to vote for him solely for religious reasons.

The report concludes with 50 recommendations, one of the central ones being a requirement for voter ID and the use of English only at polling stations.

“These are not ‘community languages’ – they are foreign languages,” Pickles noted.

Pickles said a much greater police presence is needed to prevent voter intimidation. These recommendations will be seen in the form of an action plan by Prime Minister Theresa May.
