Ben Shapiro, the former editor-at-large of Breitbart News, had to explain to CNN’s Brianna Keilar what a “turd tornado” was on Wednesday.

In light of Breitbart Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon being hired to be the new CEO of Donald Trump’s campaign, Keilar asked Shapiro in an interview on CNN’s “Wolf,” “Why would you argue that Bannon giving [Trump] advice, that you would presume to be more Trump-like and to be militant is something that would serve Donald Trump? And I ask you this because as you know, there’s so many in the Republican establishment who say that is not what he should be doing. He should be calming down a little bit, trying to reduce some of the drama so he can attract people in the middle of the political spectrum.” (RELATED: Trump Shakes Up Campaign; Taps Breitbart News Executive To Run Campaign)

“As you probably know, I think Donald Trump is a turd tornado. But I also understand that he has no capacity what so ever to control himself and be this sort of stayed politician that many want him to be. I mean Reince Priebus isn’t going to convince him to become Mitt Romney and Trump doesn’t want to become Mitt Romney. I’m not sure he should become Mitt Romney. So telling him to double down is not necessarily a terrible strategy. If he’s going to go down, he’s going to go down being Trump. And I that’s probably what Steve Bannon is telling him to do.”

“A what tornado,” Keilar asked.

“A turd tornado,” Shaprio replied.

“What is that,” Keilar followed up.

“It’s like a Sharknado except with poop,” Shapiro replied.

Covering her face with papers, Keilar replied, “Okay, all right. That’s not quite what I expected but okay.”

One can surmise Shaprio said “turd tornado” instead using the phrase “shit storm.”
