MSBNC’s Stephanie Ruhle asked Democratic Rep. Matt Cartwright on Wednesday how Hillary Clinton did not commit “perjury” in her testimony before the House Select Committee on Benghazi.

On “MSNBC Live,” Ruhle showed Cartwright video clips of Clinton’s testimony before the House Benghazi committee followed by, Rep. Trey Gowdy’s questioning of FBI Director James Comey where he debunked Clinton’s email claims, therefore indicating Clinton lied to at least the American public. After the clip concluded, Ruhle said, “You’re an attorney, I’m not but I’m definitely a confused American when I watch these things. How is that not perjury?” (RELATED: GOP Lawmakers Lay Out Perjury Case Against Clinton)

“Here’s what we established, when I questioned Director Comey,” Cartwright replied. “The question was, well, were there things marked classified that she sent or received? And out of the tens of thousands of emails that they were reviewing, only three of them had any markings whatsoever suggesting a possible classification, and I — there’s a clip from that I wish you guys would run–”

“But only three is not zero,” Ruhle interjected. “You either did it or you didn’t do it. No?”
