Democrat Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign blasted out an email Tuesday urging supporters to donate money so that “we see the last of Trump” in November.
“I know how invested you are in this campaign, so I wanted to make sure you heard from me about our progress for the month,” the email signed by her campaign manager Bobby Mook opened. “And this year, I can’t even tell you how important it is that we not just win this thing, but win by a huge margin. Anything less will leave the door open for Trump to claim that we ‘rigged’ this election.”
In the email’s closer, Mook openly advocated for getting Republican nominee Donald Trump out of the public eye. “Don’t look back at this moment with regret,” the email concludes. “Chip in $5 right now to make 100% sure we see the last of Trump on November 8th.”
The national media and the Clinton campaign heavily criticized Trump when he made a comment during a campaign rally earlier this month seemingly prodding gun supporters to go after the Democratic nominee.
“Hillary wants to abolish, essentially abolish the Second Amendment,” Trump told the crowd. “By the way, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do folks.” Trump concluded by adding, “Though the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know.”
Trump later restructured his statements on twitter.

Trump further clarified his comments during a local news station interview in North Carolina. “If Hillary Clinton gets elected, I think she’s going to decimate the Second Amendment, if not abolish it, ” he said. “And she’ll do that through judges, through the justices of the Supreme Court. But the Second Amendment people have tremendous power because they are so united.”
Clinton’s campaign wasn’t impressed by the clarifications. “This is simple — what Trump is saying is dangerous,” Mook said in a statement at the time. “A person seeking to be President of the United States should not suggest violence in any way.”
