Mary Landrieu, a major Hillary Clinton campaign bundler and former Democratic U.S. Senator from Louisiana, thanked Donald Trump on Friday for visiting her home state amid major flooding there.

“Does a visit from Donald Trump, is that helpful to raising awareness and money?” Landrieu was asked during an interview on CNN.

“I think it is,” she responded.

“I want to thank Mr. Trump for coming to Louisiana,” she continued.

“He brought attention to our state, and we need that now because this disaster is far larger than people can appreciate from television.”

At least 13 people have died and thousands more have been displaced from their homes following major flooding in the Baton Rouge area. Trump flew to the region on Friday. Hillary Clinton and President Obama have declined to travel to the area. Obama is on vacation. Clinton issued a statement of support for the state but said that she did not want to distract from the relief effort by showing up.

Landrieu, who became a lobbyist after losing her 2014 re-election bid, went on to say that she hopes Clinton and Obama will visit her state.

“It is really a serious disaster, and I hope Secretary Clinton will make her way down. I hope President Obama will make a visit. And, you know, we need all the attention and help we can get,” she said.
