The Kardashian-Jenner family is in trouble for sharing more than 100 posts on their Instagram accounts that aren’t labeled as ads.

The family received a letter last week from the watchdog group Truth In Advertising for using product placement on their social media accounts for more than two dozen companies, without properly labeling them as advertisements, according to Variety(RELATED: Now Kim Kardashian Is In Trouble With The FDA)

The letter specifically names Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Khloe Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian for violating a FTC endorsement guideline. The group wants the posts taken down, and threaten to notify the FTC if they don’t.

“When it comes to sponsored social media posts, the law is clear–unless it’s self-evident that an Instagram post is an advertisement, a clear and prominent disclosure is required so that consumers understand that what they are viewing is an ad,” Executive Director Bonnie Patten said in the letter. “The Kardashian/Jenner family and the companies that have a commercial relationship with them have ignored this law for far too long, and it’s time that they were held accountable.”

The FTC guidelines state that celebrities, news personalities, etc. “must disclose” if they are reimbursed for a review or endorsement “since it could affect a consumer’s opinion about the product.”

The report says out of the five women, Kylie Jenner came in first with some 57 posts and Kim Kardashian coming in second with 22.

The threat might be working as Kim Kardashian took to her Instagram account on Monday posting a picture using “Sugar Bear Hair” product and adding the hashtag at the beginning of the post #ad showing it as an advertisement.
