Republican nominee Donald Trump’s Jefferson County, Colo., field office is pretty standard, but it’s run and operated by a 12-year-old boy committed to winning the state for the Donald.

Weston Imer runs the office that oversees one of the most populated counties in the state. The county includes Denver. Imer runs the office with his mother, Laurel Imer, who wants to encourage parents on either side of the aisle to get their kids more involved in the political process.

“You have a responsibility to your children to teach them,” Laurel Imer told reporters at KMOV in St. Louis.

Imer told reporters that he was bullied last year in school for supporting Trump, but he wants to do whatever he can to ensure Trump wins his state. “Get involved,” Imer said. “That’s what I’m going to say. Get involved. Kids need to be educated.”

Imer even called on Trump’s son, Barron Trump, to be his running mate when he becomes eligible to run for the presidency in 2040. “Watch for me – 2040,” Imer said. “And Barron Trump, if you are watching, in 2040 I’ll take you as my running mate.”

According to the Real Clear average, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has a large lead in the state — 46.4 percent to Trump’s 35.6 percent. Colorado Republicans most recently made news during the Republican National Convention when the Colorado delegation made a stand on the convention floor to enable delegates to “vote their conscience” on the first ballot of the convention.
