Comedian and TV host Bill Nye “The Science Guy” told CNN to “knock yourselves out” for having a “climate change denier meteorologist.”
Appearing on CNN’s “New Day” alongside Chris Cuomo, Nye said, “Right now, there’s enough wind and solar resources, a little bit of tidal, some geothermal to run the whole place… You would not need to have a military on the other side of the world protecting oil fields. Then in an attempt to close the interview, Cuomo said, “A big issue that we see hanging over lots of parts of life. Let’s see what happens coming out of this.”
But then Nye dropped this bomb: “And you know, here at CNN you have, essentially, a climate change denier meteorologist. And knock yourselves out, but this is a big problem and it’s not going to go away.”
Mediaite surmises that the individual in question is Chad Myers who has said that TV meteorologists push climate change because their jobs are tied to it.
