Britney Spears said she nearly drowned while she was on vacation in Hawaii.

During an interview with BBC radio, the 34-year-old singer said she “literally almost drowned” when she was sucked in by six-foot waves.
“I completely embarrassed myself,” Spears said. “I went out and I thought it was, like, a wave pool, and I was like, ‘This is so nice and refreshing and just beautiful.’ But the thing I didn’t think about is when you come back, the waves really come in hard.” (RELATED: Britney Spears Just Shut Down Her Critics With This Insane Bikini Video)

“I got sucked under for, like, five minutes,” she added. “Literally, almost drowned. And I’m like, ‘Where is my security? They’re just going to let me die here, you know.'”
“And then I came in again and another wave took me under. They just kind of left me there. I think they knew I could probably survive my way through it.”
