“The world’s first commercially available handheld” flamethrower is available for purchase, and could be the ultimate gift this holiday season.

Ion Productions created the XM42, which can shoot a line of ignited fuel 20 to 25 feet, for utility and entertainment purposes, a representative of the company told The Huffington Post.

The portable flamethrower, which weighs 7 to 10 pounds (depending on fuel level), can be used for pyrotechnic events, melting large patches of snow, clearing weeds, combating invasive insects and firefighting. The technology can also be “simply a fun and exciting display,” according to the product’s website.

The flamethrower is legal in every state in America except potentially California and Maryland, which have legislation regarding flamethrowers, the company’s FAQ page explains.

A man in west Seattle burned his own house down with a homemade flamethrower in 2014, after making it his mission to kill a spider that infiltrated his residence, USA Today reports.

“We strongly encourage use only in a safe outdoor area from inadvertent flammable objects and away from others,” CEO Chris Byers told HuffPo.

Germany popularized the Flammenwerfer, or flamethrower, during World War I, RealClearDefense reports.

This tool is now available to anybody for $900 and comes in 11 different colors.
