A man sexually assaulted a woman on an orange line train in Virginia in broad daylight Monday as it approached the Dunn Loring station near Arlington.

Police promptly apprehended the suspect on scene after the female victim identified her attacker. Officers arrested 27-year-old Anthony Sinclair from Washington, D.C., and charged him with aggravated sexual battery and assault and battery. Sinclair allegedly exposed himself to the woman as the orange line train approached the Dunn Loring station at 2 p.m., reports WJLA.

Sinclair assaulted the woman and tried to force her to perform a sex act before she was able to escape and alert authorities in the station.

Police are holding Sinclair without bond at the Arlington County Jail and the investigation into the sexual assault is ongoing. (RELATED: Police Failed To Arrest Accused DC Metro Rapist A Week Before Attack)

Three men sexually assaulted a woman on a moving D.C. Metro train traveling through Alexandria in early June. The attackers approached the woman on a train traveling through Old Town Alexandria between Eisenhower Avenue and Braddock Road stations and physically assaulted her when she refused their advances.

A man assaulted and raped a woman aboard a moving Metro train in broad daylight in April. Police arrested John Prentice Hicks, 39, on the same day as the attack, charging him with attempted first-degree rape, a first-degree sex offense and second-degree assault, but only alerted the public to the incident in late May.

The Metropolitan Police Department said D.C. Metro officials directed police to broadcast any violent events to the public on the same day the crime occurs following the incident, as long as it does not interfere with the police investigation.
