American Urban Radio White House correspondent April Ryan appeared on MSNBC Friday afternoon to discuss the aftermath of Donald Trump‘s non-birther press conference in Washington.

Trump tricked the press to coming to his fancy Washington, D.C. hotel, where military veterans showed up to praise him. Ultimately he announced that President Obama was born in the United States.

MSNBC ran a press conference put on by the Congressional Black Caucus PAC, whose members blasted Trump on the network for a long while. They called his behavior toward blacks, Mexicans and the handicapped “disgusting” and “nasty” and “mean-spirited” among other descriptions. A black female lawmaker shouted, “He’s a hater. He’s a bigot. He’s a racist.”

The network broke into the presser to get reaction from Ryan.

Asked if Trump’s revelation would help Hillary Clinton,” she replied, “I believe it will, but moreso it’s galvanizing against Donald Trump. African Americans I talked to today…people are very upset and it’s not just African Americans. But it’s not just African Americans. I have many friends who are white who are saying it’s hypocritical and racist.”
