The bombs that exploded in New York City and New Jersey Saturday are from the “same person,” a law enforcement source told Fox News Sunday.

“Law enforcement source says NY and NJ explosive devices from ‘same person,'” Fox News tweeted.

One bomb exploded in a trashcan along the route where thousands of runners were preparing to run a 5K Marine Corps charity race early Saturday morning in New Jersey. No one was injured, because the race had been delayed. Police found two more devices that did not detonate inside the trashcan.

Later Saturday, a bomb placed inside a dumpster exploded in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, injuring 29 people. Police later found another explosive device nearby.

Officials have been cautious to attribute a motive to the bombing, although New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Sunday “a bomb exploding in New York is obviously an act of terrorism.”
