Jeb Bush mega-donor and Miami resident Mike Fernandez announced Tuesday that he will spend up to $2 million towards Latino voter registration efforts in order to defeat Donald Trump in Florida.

“As a lifelong Republican, I cannot support a Party I no longer recognize,” Fernandez wrote in an email obtained by Politico. He said the GOP has to more actively “distance itself from a man who has taken such liberties with the facts that calling him a liar would not suffice.”

Fernandez recently came out and endorsed Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in an op-ed in the Miami Herald. “I take my civic responsibilities very seriously. None more so than the solemn duty to elect the president of our country. Donald Trump is neither representative of our values nor qualified to lead the nation,” Fernandez wrote in the opinion piece.

The billionaire health care businessman has not announced what groups he will donate to. Jared Norland, of the National Council of La Raza, told Politico his group would be happy to take Fernandez’s money. Norland said it would not only go towards voter registration but also to efforts to turn out the vote. Recent polling shows Trump narrowly ahead of Clinton in Florida.
