Democratic State Rep. Deborah Ross of North Carolina refused to answer whether or not she was a socialist Tuesday after famed socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont endorsed her campaign against North Carolina Republican Sen. Richard Burr.

In the video, Ross refused to acknowledge the question before walking into a campaign event.

Sanders endorsed Ross because of her firm stances on a high minimum wage, mandated equal pay for women, as well as her firm support of Planned Parenthood, the largest provider of abortions in the country, and other pro-abortion endeavors.

Burr leads in the latest Quinnipiac poll by 6 points in the race, an expanded lead from August. Ross resigned from her position as minority whip to pursue a position as general counsel for Triangle Transit in 2013.
