During an interview on the “Late Show” Tuesday night, Stephen Colbert asked the first lady if she had “any sympathy” for either of them because they are the ones “who have to go there and stand by the person running for president.” (RELATED: Michelle Obama Takes A Shot At ‘Make America Great Again’)

“No not really,” Obama said. “You have to be in it if you’re in it.”

“If you don’t agree, you should’ve agreed before they ran. If I didn’t agree with what Barack was saying, I would not support his run. So I stand there proudly, and I hope they are too.”

Then Colbert brought up the allegations that Melania plagiarized Michelle’s speech from the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

“Melania Trump was so criticized for using what turned out to be a portion of your speech, but do you have any sympathy [for her] because there are people around her creating things?” Colbert asked.

“Yeah, that was tough,” she said. (RELATED: Anita McBride Defends Melania Trump’s Convention Speech)
