During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Wednesday night, the Fox News anchor was asked about his tough interview style.

“When I watch you speak to Donald Trump, I don’t think you go easy on him at all,” Kimmel told him. “And in fact, I’d even say that sometimes I feel like when you’re interviewing him, that maybe you’re not actually going to vote for him.”

“My job is to get as much as I can out of both candidates and to present that to the voter,” O’Reilly said. “I never endorse anybody. If I endorse someone, they will be arrested the next day, all right? That’s going to happen. It’s just my karma.”

“My interview style is confrontational,” he continued. “If I think a political person is not telling the truth, I say that. So Trump and I have a long-term relationship. He takes a lot of stuff from me that he wouldn’t take from other people.”

Then O’Reilly predicted how the presidential debates will go.

“Trump could say anything at any time,” he said. “Trump won the Republican debates by saying stuff like, ‘You’re boring. you’re fat, you’re sweating.” That’s how Trump won.”

“I thought I was watching Don Rickles,” he added.

O’Reilly said if Trump calls Hillary Clinton “crooked,” he’ll lose. Then he speculated that if Clinton comes out of the gate calling Trump a “misogynist,” she’ll lose.

“If she starts that, she’ll lose,” he said. “Because Americans want problem solving. We’ve heard the insults, you don’t need any more of them. It’s the best case, and both have to make their case.”
