As Charlotte descended into chaos, Robin Roberts of “Good Morning America” described the riots as “young people rising up and showing their frustrations” as she interviewed President Barack Obama.

Here are some ways these “young people” in Charlotte demonstrated their “frustrations”:

1.) Damaging Businesses

Rioters damaged businesses in the city by breaking in through windows. The NASCAR Hall of Fame and the United Way both said they sustained damage to their properties.

They also broke the windows in the Hilton Garden Inn and shattered the hotel’s front door.

According to cell phone video from a witness, rioters broke into the CVS at the EpiCenter and destroyed the store’s glass door

2.) Assaulting A Reporter

During the riots, one person assaulted CNN reporter Ed Lavendera. While Lavendera reported from the scene of the riots, a rioter came up and ran into Lavendera with his shoulder. (VIDEO: CNN Reporter CNN Reporter Assaulted On Live TV During Charlotte Riots)

3.) Trying To Set A Reporter On Fire

Rioters tried to throw a photographer into a fire they created. A livestream from WCCB showed police helping the photographer, showing that he escaped without serious harm. (RELATED: Charlotte Rioters Try To BURN REPORTER ALIVE)

4.) Injuring Police Officers

During one night of riots, approximately 12 officers got injured. One officer got hit in the face by a rock.

5.) Injuring Each Other

Justin Carr, 26, died from a gunshot injury during a night of riots. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers arrested a suspect in Carr’s shooting Friday morning. According to police, the suspect is Rayquan Borum, a black man.

6.) Damaging Police Property

Rioters spray-painted police cars and smashed several of their front windows.

7.) Ruining Fundraising Event

Due to the nature of the riots, a fundraiser for an organization, Care Ring, that provides free healthcare services for those in need, had to be canceled. According to the organization’s director, canceling the fundraiser means a loss of almost $100,000.

8.) Assaulting White Bystanders

According to videos, protesters attacked white people during the riots. A mob of protesters dragged and assaulted a white man.
