Donald Trump’s running mate Mike Pence says Gennifer Flowers will not attend the first presidential debate Monday night.

“Gennifer Flowers will not be attending the debate tomorrow night,” Pence told host Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday.”

On Thursday billionaire Mark Cuban said he would be sitting in the front row of the debate in support of Hillary Clinton. In response, Trump suggested in a Saturday tweet that Flowers, an ex-mistress of Bill Clinton, would also sit in the front row at the debate.

Flowers on Saturday said through a spokesperson she would join Trump at the debate. (RELATED: Gennifer Flowers Agrees To Join Trump At Presidential Debate)

Pence explained Trump’s tweet was meant to mock Clinton’s ploy to get Cuban at the debate.

“Donald Trump was using the tweet yesterday really to mock an effort by Hillary Clinton and her campaign to really distract attention from where the American people are going to be focused tomorrow night, which is on the issues, on the choice that we face,” he said.
