“Me, standing for the national anthem is something I will do. That’s who I am. That’s what I believe in. But that doesn’t mean I don’t respect and don’t agree with what Colin Kaepernick is doing.” the three-time NBA champion told the media when asked his stance during the national anthem. Kaepernick’s refusal to stand during the national anthem has sparked outrage from many and also some support. It is highly likely that while LeBron James might stand for the anthem that there will be NBA players that sit.
