Hillary Clinton briefly addressed reporters onboard her campaign plane Tuesday morning, during which she dropped an ill-fitting reference to Chicago Cubs legend, Ernie Banks.

Clinton told the gathered reporters that she “felt so positive about” her Monday debate performance that she had one specific thought “pop into [her] head.”

“You know growing up, one of my favorite baseball players was Ernie Banks,” the Chicago-native stated. “He used to get so excited about going to play that he’d say ‘let’s play two.'”

“So I’m looking forward to the next debate and then the one after that.”

Clinton was of course referencing Banks’ signature phrase, “it’s a beautiful day for a ball game. Let’s play two.”

The next presidential debate takes place on October 9, 13 days from now.
